Since the age of 15, Kristina enjoyed participating in pageants to help her come out of her shell. As an only child, until the age of 17, she was often a wallflower and pageants helped her overcome that.

Having attained her ultimate goal of participating in the Miss USA Pageant as Miss Connecticut USA and as Miss Hawaiian Tropic New England, Kristina no longer competes in pageants, however she enjoys being involved from time-to-time as a judge, emcee, writer and coach.
